If you have read my last article《The horizontal centrifugal casting method’s brief introduction》,you will know generally the centrifugal casting method includes horizontal centrifugal casting method and vertical centrifugal casting method.The horizontal centrifugal casting method is mainly used to produce the castings whose diameter is less than its length ,such as ductile iron pipes,reformer tubes,centrifugally cast tubes,roller shells,sleeves,cylinders,etc and the vertical centrifugal casting method is mainly used to produce the castings whose diameter is more than its length,such as rings,bushings,liners,etc.

Whether the horizontal centrifugal casting method or the vertical centrifugal casting method,centrifugal casting molds are required.So,do you know how to choose the right centrifugal casting mold to produce the castings you need? In the process of centrifugal casting,there’s two key factors you must pay more attention to: the rotation speed of centrifugal casting mold and the pouring temperature of molten metal.If you can’t control these two factors well, the castings will have more defects and even will be cracked.So,if you want to get the required castings,the centrifugal casting molds must bear the temperature of molten metal and the shock from high-speed rotation.In a word, the material of castings you want will decide the material of centrifugal casting molds you need.
